Ms. Kaveri Mukherji

Kaveri did her postgraduate in Journalism from Kings College, London and started her career with Readers Digest and Director magazines in India .In due course, she headed the PR and Communication functions at Oberoi and ITC Welcomgroup Hotels. She then started her independent Public Relations, Communications, and Image Advisory. Kaveri, was trained with BBC London and was a television news anchor with the Govt. of India's National Channel Doordarshan for over two decades. She has directed over 50 documentary films in India and South Asia. She has curated and produced shows for the Government of India, namely World Economic Forum, various embassies in India and abroad and recently the India-Asean textile show during the Indo-Asean summit in January, 2018. She is also the author and editor of the book India Asean Textiles.. Weaving Relationships published by Govt. of India and FICCI. Her lifelong interest in textiles and handicrafts saw her setting up an NGO, Sunblossom Foundation, which initiated work for the revival of kantha stitching in the Sunderbans area of West Bengal. Furthering her intention of working with Bengal textiles after this experience, she is now working on a bigger canvas of its textile artistry, which are stressed due to the depletion of practicing artisans and weavers.
